In CAD, a model is created using 3D geometric modeling. 3D modeling (also known as meshing) is the process of developing a mathematical representation of any three-dimensional surface of an object using specialized software. That’s about as techy as we need to be about that.
A 3D model can be displayed as a two-dimensional image through a process called 3D rendering . Models can be rendered in a variety of materials to simulate the finished product. Renders are extremely useful in the design process as they allow the designer and client to view the product and make changes based on those images.
The Gallery below showcases jewelry designed and rendered by Sierra Design Studios using Gemvision’s Matrix 3D Software with V-Ray .
Check back often as we’ll be updating the gallery. Enjoy!
These pieces of jewelry utilize the same design motif for a consistent jewelry line.
This design is actually 2 separate cast parts which are designed to interlock and be soldered to become a single hollow bead. The individual pieces can be cast in different metals to create a more dynamic look.
This piece combines precious and non-traditional materials into a contemporary design.
